Flat-fee IAM with no per-user licensing

One price. All seats. Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) for Microsoft Entra, without paying per workforce member.

Why flat-fee

IAM costs that grow with features, not headcount

Most enterprise IGA platforms, and most of the access governance add-ons on the major identity stacks, price per user per month. Every new joiner, every contractor, every secondary admin account shows up on the next invoice. Apporetum prices on capability and capacity tiers instead. A 5,000-seat organisation and a 50,000-seat organisation pay the same monthly subscription for the same module mix.

The flat-fee model exists because we built Apporetum for the Microsoft-shop reality: organisations already pay Microsoft for Entra ID Free, P1, or P2, and shouldn't have to pay a second per-user identity governance tax on top.

At 5,000 seats, Apporetum saves ~AUD $330,000/year

Apporetum Corporate (Access Management + Identity Management) lists at AUD $12,000/month, about AUD $144,000/year, for any number of seats. Microsoft Entra ID Governance standalone is priced per user per month and works out to approximately AUD $630,000/year for the same 5,000-seat workforce at published list prices.

What you get

Flat-fee IAM with no per-user licensing: covering the full IGA scope

The Apporetum subscription includes the full Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) scope: deterministic Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) automation, self-service access requests with delegated approval, access reviews and access certifications, identity correlation, multi-tenant orchestration, and ISO 27001 / SOC 2 / Essential Eight aligned audit evidence. Nothing in the IGA picture sits behind an extra per-user entitlement.

Deterministic JML automation

Joiner-Mover-Leaver, re-hire, suspension and secondary-account state machines included, not a per-seat add-on.

Self-service access requests

Self-service access requests with delegated approval and time-bound access, included in the Access Management module.

Access reviews and access certifications

Manager and app-owner review campaigns, audit-ready evidence, continuous reconciliation: module-priced, not seat-priced.

ISO 27001 / SOC 2 / Essential Eight controls

Audit evidence aligned with ISO 27001:2022 (A.5.15–A.5.18, A.8.2, A.8.3), SOC 2 CC6, and the Australian Essential Eight maturity ladder.

Multi-tenant orchestration

Connect multiple Entra tenants under one control plane. Adding tenants does not multiply the bill.

Where the saving comes from

Per-user IAM pricing breaks at 5,000 seats. Flat-fee doesn't.

Per-user pricing is rational for a SaaS vendor: it scales their revenue with the customer's deployment. For the customer it creates an awkward outcome: every joiner shows up on the next invoice, every contractor counts, and the procurement conversation never ends. At 5,000 seats the gap between per-user and flat-fee IAM becomes large enough to fund the rest of your identity programme.

Per-user vs flat-fee IAM cost curve

Predictable budget

Finance can sign off a multi-year IAM budget that does not need to be re-baselined every time the headcount plan changes.

Lower TCO at scale

Above ~2,500 seats the flat-fee curve sits well below the per-user curve. The bigger you are, the more flat-fee pays.

No surprise true-ups

Acquisitions, contractor surges, secondary admin accounts and B2B partner identities do not generate retroactive licensing trues-ups.

Faster onboarding

No per-application or per-user procurement gate. Connect a new application or onboard a contractor cohort the same day.

Microsoft licensing optimised

Apporetum runs on top of your existing Entra ID Free, P1, or P2. No extra per-user identity governance entitlement needed.

One vendor, one invoice

Bundle Access Management, Identity Management, Access Reviews and Data Insights on one monthly subscription, billed in AUD ex GST.

Buyer's checklist

Questions to ask your incumbent IAM vendor

If you are renewing or replacing an IAM contract this year, these questions surface the per-user mechanics that drive the bill, and reveal where a flat-fee model would be cheaper.

  • Is access governance licensed per user, or as a flat subscription?
  • Are contractors, secondary admins and B2B identities billable seats?
  • When my workforce grows 20% next year, by how much does the invoice grow?
  • Do access reviews and access certifications sit behind a separate per-user SKU?
  • Does Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) automation require an additional per-user identity governance entitlement?
  • If I acquire another business mid-contract, am I billed retroactively per seat?
